One last day in Paducah, included attending Eleanor Burns' last show for the 2012 quilt show. Here she is as Eleanor Roosevelt. Her program tends to be "edutainment"  That is: part truth, part fiction. Meant for fun. She will be a legend, so I felt I should attend her show at least once. She IS funny!

Then Tom and I had dinner at Whaler's and attended a reception at the National Quilt Museum to celebrate PAAQT's (quilt appraisers') 20 year anniversary.

 Now we are headed north, staying over in Wilmington, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. Great trip!

There is always something new and interesting around the corner. American Quilter's Society is giving away a patchwork-painted Ford Focus. Hmmm. Wonder how much a paint job costs?

Then, around another corner, on my way to do appraisals, I find Brian from Florida sitting on the floor doing hand applique. He's self-taught and finds needlework relaxing. Go, Brian!

There is lots to see in Paducah for quilt/fabric-minded folk. Quilts, fabric, antiques, interesting people. This lady dresses in period attire. Always, she says. Not just for quilt week. Check out the stockings!

This is our first RV trip of 2012. Meandered our way to Kentucky via Vermont, upstate NY, Chicago, and south to Paducah: Quilt City, USA. We've been here a couple of nights staying at Fern Lake Campground outside of town. Small pond out back, highway out front. Convenience and relaxation all at once.
