Last day on the road

And look what Bonnie spotted when we stopped in New Brunswick for gas!

Poor Tom. Ever the good sport, he agreed to stop; he was rewarded with some homemade cookies from the snack bar. Those ladies are good bakers!

This is who greets the quilt show attendees just inside the front door. Mr & Mrs Quilt Show??? Too funny.

Our last night in Canada we said good-bye to the rain, and here is a shot of the double rainbow at the campground.

Had a great visit to Cape Breton Island. The Louisbourg Playhouse presented great shows!
The Men of the Deeps, North America's only coal miner's chorus, performed to a full house last night in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. A wonderful, poignant, concert. More info about this unique chorus: http://www.menofthedeeps.com/
We hit the road today, headed west, then south back to Maine.

Looks a lot like Maine, eh?

Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site of Canada
This reconstructed 18th Century Fortress on the SE coast of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia was our tour for today. Re-enactors in period costume and excellent tour guide made this a memorable day. And the weather cooperated!

Here is what the parking lot at the Fortress looked like after our group arrived!

Entrance and selected photos from the day.
Looking back at the entrance

Not sure what you call someone who herds geese...

Cape Breton Island

Arrived at Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia today. Checked in at the Roadtrek rally in Louisbourg - there are 37 Roatreks registered. We have entertainment, meals, and tours lined up for the next couple of days. Weather has deteriorated to cool and overcast, but at least it's not raining!
Roadtrek is our 19' van with full accommodations. It has all the conveniences of home in a sleek package and we love it! More info on Roadtrek is at: http://www.roadtrek.com/

We've had our 2001 for three years and it's taken us to Kentucky a couple of times, Vermont and Syracuse a few times.

We are off to our first ever Roadtrek Rally in Louisburgh, Nova Scotia - way east.
This morning we were rewarded with this view from the campground. We are on the Northumberland Shore of Nova Scotia, heading to our first ever Roadtrek rally.
